Darby
Rating:
This is one of those books that you can't put down, no matter how hard you try. Darby is set in the 1920's, where segregation and slavery were very relevant. Darby, a white girl, befriends Evette, a black girl with a horrible past but a positive outlook for the future. Darby believes that everyone, regardless of race, deserves equal rights. Evette suggests that she starts a newspaper article. Darby starts one. Although she has the truth, nobody is around to hear it.
